Civic hospital staff in Kalyan-Dombivli suspended services protesting an assault by a corporator and relatives. The incident occurred after a perceived delay in treating a pregnant patient on Tuesday. Police filed an FIR against four men and one woman, including the corporator. Protesting staff vowed to continue their agitation until all accused are arrested. Private doctors threatened solidarity action if arrests were not made by Wednesday.
